If you are playing a racing game like Mario Kart 8 and want to invite friends in the race, you can easily do it by following some easy workarounds.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is one of the most preferred racing games available on Nintendo Switch. It includes several characters to choose from.

In case you are setting up a multiplayer race to compete against your buddies for the first time on your gaming console, here are few things that will help you understand how you can set up, join and play multiplayer games. The game can only host up to four persons locally and eight persons online. It is necessary to have a separate Switch controller for every player to play multiplayer games.

Joining a Multiplayer Race

Here is how to connect and play an online multiplayer race with your friends:

·         First of all, go to the menu and then select the Online play option there.

·         You have to choose player/s. The maximum limit is two.

·         After that, choose the Friends tab by navigating the menu of Online Play.

·         Choose a friend who is currently in the game.

·         Next, you need to select the Join option for joining the race with the friend.

Setting up Online Tournaments Your Friends Can Join

Follow these steps if you wish to set up an online tournament or contest that your friend wants to join:

·         First of all, choose the Online Play option right from using the menu.

·         After that, choose the number of players (1 or 2) based on the players using the same room for playing a particular game via the same Switch.

·         Next, choose your desired tournament using the Online Play menu.

·         Then, you have to select the “Create a Tournament” option.

·         Now, press the Yes tab.

·         Hit the info tab for your game that will present for the general public.

·         Press the OK button there.

·         Select the name.

·         Hit the OK tab once you have followed all the steps mentioned above.

·         Now, you need to set your tournament rules.

·         Once the tournament is created, then save the code.

Setting up Local Races

In case you wish to game with your friends on a shared screen, follow these steps carefully:

·         First and foremost, scroll down the page and then hit the option Multiplayer.

·         Now, choose how many players you want to play with.

·         Choose from these options: VS Race, Battle, or the Grand Prix.

·         You need to select a racing class.

·         Every player requires to select a particular character by tapping the A button.

·         Now, filter through these choices:  kart, glider, and wheels.

·         Everyone needs to hit the A tab. Once your choices are ready and finalized, then your controller will say, “Ready!”

·         Next, you need to hit the Cup you like to play in.

·         The first gamer has to choose the OK tab.

·         The race will start in a while. You have to do what you can to win this competition.

Now that you have understood how to invite or join your friends to play an online multiplayer race, choose Online play mode using the game menu. Then, choose one or two players, select your friends from the Play menu, and invite them to join the contest or a particular multiplayer tournament.
